 Seperate VMware Infrastructure for Linux?
We have a fairly large deployment of Windows guests (a few thousand) in our VMware environment and are starting to grow our Linux (Red Hat and Suse) population.  Since our Linux servers are normally larger (4 processor Plus) and would leverage different code in shared memory would it make sense to deploy seperate farms for the Linux infrastructure?

Software/Hardware used:
vSphere, Suse, Red Hat, Windows 200x

Answer Wiki:
Typically I would say no they don't need to ... unless your linux VMs will have a high CPU load, and your existing farm can't handle that capacity.
