Send on behalf of group in exchange 2003
I configured a universal distribution group. I want a user to send on behalf of this group. can it be done? I added the users privileges in the groups security tab. The error message is that the group is not allowed to send to any user account or an external account. Is this possible or send of behalf is only done on the user account level?

Answer Wiki:
"send on behalf of" can only be granted to a mailbox, such as a user or a resource mailbox. Since a distribution list is not a mailbox but merely a list, you can not send "on behalf of" that list, no. It is a list of people you send mail TO which then gets distributed to all who are memebers of that list. Instead create a resource mailbox and then you can grant "send on behalf of" permissions to whomever you wish.
