PIX no longer exists. It is replaced with the ASA product. You should talk to a vendor about the right solution for your organization. Both products do a good job. It depends on what your organization is capable of supporting and whether initial cost is an issue.

    Both ASA and Check Point firewalls are very good. I can say that Check Point can be a beast to manage. At least the last time I checked the interface and rulebase are pretty unintuitive and not for the faint of heart.

    Both are good firewalls to manage, although I much prefer the Check Point - I find it's easier to manage once you get the hang of it : ) Plenty good books out there for CP management too!
