I dont believe you can use POP securerly, and the only option for sync would be to tether it to your PC.
Basically Blackberry doesn’t allow you to sync without a BES server. It will affect their sales. Your IT guys have to enable SSL POP and tell you which to port to use. The port is usually port 995.
You can sync a BB to your local PC without a BES server. Our users with personal BB’s do this. Corporately owned BB users sync over the “air” with the BES server without connecting the device to their PC, but personal BB users have to connect and manually sync their devices to their PC to get their calendar and contacts on the device.
