Secret Service and identity theft
I was researching the TJX data breach (since I was a victim) and found myself being directed to the Secret Service Web site. What’s up with that?

The Secret Service’s original mandate in 1865 was to investigate counterfeit currency. In addition to protecting the President and his family, the Secret Service is responsible for investigating crimes that involve financial institution fraud, computer and telecommunications fraud, false identification documents, access device fraud, advance fee fraud, electronic funds transfers and money laundering.
