It is not advisable logging into an ftp server as root, check &amp; see, /etc/ftpusers contains a line &quot;root&quot;. it it is there comments it / delete it. Make sure the entry for ftpd and telnetd are both in the inetd.conf and the hosts.equiv has the system names in it.]]></description>
