Hello,

I have a user on IE 7 using lotuc notes webmail v 7.. He has a Brother MRC-9840CDW all in one... I can't seem to get scan to email working.. Is this a limitation of webmail vs fat clients? Anyone know a way around this?

Answer Wiki:
Well... not sure if it is possible with webmail only... You have to configure your AIO to use your SMTP mail server that will send your scanned file to the user email adress. In our case, we use ScanToFax with an external domain name, like @FAX that route the scanned file to the IP adress of the fax server. Sorry, ,not really a solution for your problem but it's a kind of :-( Hope it helps... Hoops, sorry Gabe9527, i did not see that you had already answer...

The issue you have is that there is no Mail client on the machine to create the mail message. The Brother driver needs to have something physically on the machine to do this. Webmail is just IE7 and nothing installed locally.

Way around this. I am not sure if it is possible but you might be able to point the scanner at your Domino server to send mail ie use it as a SMTP gateway for the device. Send the scanned image to yourself via your server.
