Did u mean McAfee AV, Please try out this ....
Rename the malware bite Exe file and then try to run (if it exists) and perform scan in safe mode or try to perform the Disk cleanup and disk defrag if possible.
One more thing, Download Virus Protection latest DAT Files and install it in computer. by this the anti virus is updated and then run the scanner.

I found that message too in a friend’s computer a couple of months ago.
You did not provide any info on the software used, but I assume the message is from McAfee AV.
At that time I did try to do some debugging, but the only way I could find to solve the problem was uninstall and than reinstall the software.
