Hi guys I am having an issue installing SBS2011 to a dell 2950 when the install gets to the expanding files consistantly at 40% the installation fails on a cannot install file is missing or currpt. This is from the genuine DVD I have also tried form a bootable USB (slower but same issue different install source) I hvae tried reconfiguring from the two 1 TB drives in RAID 1 to 1 drive in raid 0 no difference drives ar only 7200 rpm (only ones available at the time) I have 8GB of ram. The only thing to bear in mind is that it was a second hand auction buy am I just looking at a busted server? Cheers
Software/Hardware used:

if i am not wrong, you will have to put in the preinstallation cd before the server will ask you to put in the windows cd..
Is this a Dell preinstall cd?
Cheers
preinstallation cd in my country is white in color. I am not sure if it is the same in other country..
then the windows cd is blue in color that you will need to pop in after the white cd finish its setup.
Well I downloaded the pre installation discs from Dell website cdu_1.6_core_173_A01 and windows support package CDUW_DVD_6.5.0-22_A01 and ran through the process and when it asked me to insert the SBS disc I did and it did exactly the same thing (Error code 0×80070570) Crazy thing is I managed to install Win 7 straight from the DVD with the prep (wanted to test) so have i got it wrong is this server not compitable with SBS 2011??
Thanks for your replys btw Jinteik
AMatureIT,
Have you tried running the dell diag disk against the system? What version is your BIOS at? Did you try clearing the CMOS first?
Did you try the install SBS2011 with 2 or 4GB of RAM instead of 8GB?
