hi, I have a CLP which calls two programs A and B. A is submitted using SBMJOB command. My requirement is that after sucessfull completion of A i would like to condition program B. Is this possible? Thanks, Siddharth

Is there any reason that you cannot change program A to call program B if A was sucessful,
Otherwise nornally your CL would not know if the submitted program A completes notmally. You would need to change A to do something, Updata a dataarea, send a message, etc. Then you would need to change your CL to monitor for the condition set in A before it submits B. Or change B to monitor for the condition at the beginning of the program and wait until condition is completed.

    The SBMJOB has the MSGQ() parameter that can be used for exactly that purpose. The CLP would watch that message queue for a successful completion message CPF1241 after submitting PGMA. Once that message arrived, PGMB would be submitted. If message CPF1240 (or perhaps some other error message) arrived instead, the CLP would do whatever the alternative action should be. Tom
