Is there a limit to the number of spool files that can be saved at a time from an outq using savobj *outq?

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

Using the command SAVOBJ with an attribute of *OUTQ will only save the definition of the output queue, NOT the spool file contents.

SAVOBJ with SPLFDTA(*YES) can save spooled file content at V5R4 and later. I'm not aware of specific limits for spooled files. I would then expect that general limits would apply. See Save and restore limits under the Maximum Capacities topic to start. Tom

As charliebrown cautioned, set SPLFDTA (*ALL) or you'll default to only saving the empty queue itself. As to limits, I don't know a spec for that, but we have one OUTQ with 22K+ files (the apps folks do this, not me) and I've had no problem saving it under V5R4 or V6R1.
