SATA Hard Drive on Win 2003 Server
We have a Win 2003 Server with 2 SATA drives. I have a 750 gig SATA drive that I want to install in it. This drive was satisfactorily formatted (NTFS) on another machine. But the server won't recognize it, in spite of their being 3 unused SATA ports on the motherboard. I've tried different ports and cables, but the 3rd drive won't show up anywhere, not even in Disk Management. Any ideas, please?

I would also suggest to check for BIOS updates for your particular server model that might rectify this issue.

I checked the BIOS and cannot see anything that disables the ports.
Thanks for the suggestion.

Have you tried plugging into one of the two ports that you know are working? If it does not show up on one of those ports then it is your drive and not the ports.
