Q:
SAP BW transports best practices/guidelines/standards?
I am looking for some standards/suggestions/guidelines/best practices for maintaining transports in SAP BW. Here is a problem that we had and are trying to avoid in a future:

We made a change (A) in Dev and moved it to Q. While waiting for the client to test ‎and approve the change, there were some other changes (B,C,D) made and ‎transported from Dev to Q to Prod. ‎
‎ ‎
When the change (A) was finally ready to go to Prod the transport moved old ‎versions of some objects and overrode the changes that were made by ‎transports (B,C,D).

How do others deal with this?

Thanks!
