SAP ABAP prospects

SAP, ABAP, SAP careers, SAP certifications

I have worked in a BPO for 5 yrs and resigned from the job right now. Planning to do a course in SAP ABAP and then do SAP certification. I have knowledge in C & C++. I would like to know, if ABAP module is the right choice or not. Or SAP Basis will suite me, according to my BPO experience.
Right now, the job market in India is not that good. Is it recommended to try for SAP.

Dear KN

As you mention, your skills in C & C++ will help you to learn ABAP and certify. Basis would be another area which would be suitable.

I believe following would help: learning/improving programming skills in languages like C++, Java, finding an employment in programming even as a trainee. Even better, if you could find an employer who would employ you as a trainee ABAP programmer or Basis administrator. You may explore this even with your current employer.

As a techo, later you can go on to Netweaver, BW, and so on.

In any case, confidence in yourself , belief in your strengths, perseverance with your efforts and not giving up after a "No" response, ... all these help a lot personally, professionally!!!

Best of luck!
