Seems like my post did not take, so, here we go again.

All you need to do is remove the hard drive from the laptop. For instructions on that, go to the Samsung website and see if they have a pdf booklet for your system.

Then you will need to purchase a case. I always but from Amazon, so, here is one example:

http://www.amazon.com/Vantec-NexStar-2-5-Inch-External-Enclosure/dp/B002JQNXZC/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1358166216&sr=8-4&keywords=laptop+external+case

It may give you instructions it the box, but, once you see the connections, especially if it is a SATA drive, they is only one way to plug it in.

Once you put it together, you now have an external hard drive that you just plug into a USB port. When you see the new letter appear in your My Computer, you can now access the data.

Good luck

Have you considered taking the hard drive out and making it an external hard drive and then access your data that way? It is quite a simple process and you can get to your data rather quickly.
