 Safe mode screen unsupported resolution
When I try to boot my computer into safe mode, I get an error that indicates that the video resolution is not supported by my monitor. I booted into safe mode without any problems a few months ago, same computer, video card, and monitor. I've scanned for viruses and spyware but have found none, and other than not being able to boot into safe mode, my system works fine. I tried an older CRT monitor and there is no video when in safe mode, but it works correctly in regular mode. O/S is Win XP SP3 Any ideas?

Answer Wiki:
I have run into this problem one other time. That particular machine had two different video cards. For some reason, booting it into safe mode caused the machine to default to the other video card. Once I moved the monitor cable, I was able to view the screen. I hope that helps.
