Hi, Is there a way I can run my RPG program on AS/400 without using or calling it on green screen?

    It depends. Does it require a terminal session? That is, does it use a display file? If not, then you can submit it for batch execution with the SBMJOB command, or call it as a stored procedure, or run through a remote command or distributed program call, or various other possibilities. The way a program is executed depends on how you set it up and what you're authorized to do. -- Tom

    If it does not require a terminal or display, we use combination of batch file and

    user data file to run RPG/CL programs:

    test.bat: ftp -s  c:\test.usr  IPaddres

    test.usr:

    useris

    password

    ascii

    quote rcmd call pgm(rpgor cl_program)

    bye

    I don't see much reason to use FTP for this, though that is one of the "various other possibilities". I'd almost always use RMTCMD instead of FTP. -- Tom
