I can't get a form to run through the browser on my machine. I can compile ok, but when I run the form I get the "cant display page" error in IE. I have the listener running. What am I missing?

Is JInitiator already installed ?

Also, under “Edit”->”Preferences” go to the “Runtime” tab and check the value for “Application Server URL”.

It should be something similar to “http://127.0.0.1:8889/forms/frmservlet”.

Try to put that URL directly into Internet Explorer and see what happens. You should see an “Installed Successfully !” message. Make sure the address and port are correct.

Try pressing the 'Reset to Default' button to see what happens. You could also write this, and test: http://127.0.0.1:8889/forms/frmservlet

Ignore the address from my previous post. Some extra text was automatically added by the site. Try using the address mentioned in the original answer.

Did you try this ? "Try to put that URL directly into Internet Explorer and see what happens. You should see an "Installed Successfully !" message. Make sure the address and port are correct." Look for a file called default-web-site.xml, which should be under ...\DevSuiteHome\j2ee\DevSuite\config Inside the file, look for a line like this: <web-site port="8889" protocol="http" That is the port you should use in your forms builder configuration.

What about the default-web-site.xml file ? It is hard to try to help if you don't read the complete messages. Best regards,

Are you sure the OC4J instance is running ? If it is running, and this url "http://127.0.0.1:8889/forms/frmservlet" fails, probably something did not installed correctly.

Yep, it failed and you are prob right. Nobody runs their forms directly here...we compile to an fmx and ftp to a common directory. I was just interested in getting this to run locally.....

Oracleapps03, you probably have an incorrect path for your browser. In forms developer, go to "Edit"->"Preferences" and click on the "Runtime" tab. You will see a text field for "Browser location". Use the "Browse..." button to find the correct path for your browser. After changing it, try to run your form again.
