Hi All, I am using a software called HALCYON on a multi partitioned I-SERIES controlled by a Hardware Management Console. The full system saves are scheduled using the Halcyon job scheduler. This scheduler does not kick off the backup unless the consoles are signed on to RTMCONSOLE( Restricted Task Manager )and then put on screensaver. If the Console reads anyactivity on screen once logged in it fails. So it has to be out on screensave too. Now to the problem - RTMCONSOLE is logged in before i leave for the weekend friday evening and the backup's kick off at 02:00 am Sunday early morning. The Consoles logged in with RTMCONSOLE( USER ID ) disconnects ( signs off ) after 26 hours. I've tested this and 26 hours it dives. Now how do i get over this problem. Currently i getback to office on saturday evening and loggs in to keep it below 26 hours. Has anyone got any contrbutions on this ? Thanks

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

Our Company just released a new product for AS/400 Backups. Maybe this can resolve your problem and or enhance your backup/restore issues with many other benefits. 4 x faster than tape with average compression of 8-1, instant online cataloging with point/click to restore files etc.

Check the website and see if this will help and let me know.
