Rplication/authentication issue using VPN over dial up
We have a 5.12 server together with various Notes client versions connecting via ISP dial up connections then establishing VPN tunnel to watchguard firebox. When users start the replication process the Notes clients create the secure tunnel & authenticate successfully with the dominio server BUT replication always fails with the first database in the replication list. Replication then completes successfully for the other databases. If replication is re-started it again is processes all databases successfully. Is there any way of delaying the replicator to allow the server authentication process to finish? Our current work around is to have a dummy database replica and the head of the replication.

Answer Wiki:
you might want to change the time out value for the TCP port of the client. it sounds like the client decides replication times out for the first database while the client is still setting up the connection.
