How to code a 'Position To' functionality in a 'Load All' subfile? I.e Once we load all the subfile, and the element is present in the 5th page, then how to postion the display to the 5th page?

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

Hi,

You can just update your subfile record number SFLRRN with a number on the correct page and redisplay (for example if you have 10 records to a page – SFLRRN of 41 will show you page 5).

Regards,

Martin Gilbert.

A load-all subfile wouldn't normally use 'Position to' logic. It doesn't make much sense. Position-to is much better suited to page-at-a-time subfiles. The positioning is where the program reads records from the file. PageUp reads the previous page full of records; PageDown reads the next. Positioning in a subfile would mean storing all the keys in an array or reading through the subfile to know which page to display. There's not much sense in that since you can do much less I/O by file positioning instead. Tom
