Q:
RPC over HTTPS in Exchange 2003
I want to setup RPC proxy over HTTPS server in my exchange server. WE have taken following steps, but still not working.

Present environment.

Windows Domain Controller 2000 server - Active directory
Windows 2003 server SP2 with Exchange 2003 Server service pack2 installed.

We have now SSL certification, SSL port 443 is open in my router.

Configured for HTTPS in IIS6.0 and certificate installed. It;'s wokring fine, remote users using by Outlook Webaccess. - no issues.

We have installed RPC proxy in exchange and configure and changed to registry changes, as well.

Exchange system manager has been selected RPC-HTTP backend-server.

While we connecting it’s not connecting in outlook, tried www.testexchangeconnectivity.com error receives
Attempting to ping RPC Endpoint 6004 (NSPI Proxy Interface) on server mailserver.pihcorporate.com Failed to ping Endpoint
RPC_S_SERVER_UNAVAILABLE error (0x6ba) was thrown by the RPC Runtime.

My question is from this scenario will work
Domain controller is Windows2000 server SP4
Windows2003 server with Exchange 2003 SP2 - no domain contoller, joined in main domain.

Because I checked all setup and MS article, Can you please let me know. Windows2000 Global catalog will support RPC.

Any help. Thanks!

I think you have to extend the schema to windows server 2003. Did you do that? Is this working for you now?
