routing redirect page request to a server
Is there a way to get AP's or routing equipment to send requests to a remote server(on any other network) for a redirect page and subsequent authentication? Let's say our routers in front of APs are all IPd publicly on the WAN interface. Can that router or AP be programmed to message a remote server to trigger that server to respond back with a redirect page to, possibly, a natted address behind the router for the purposes of authentication?

I am not sure what you are actually tring to acomplish but a Cisco PIX with VPN that authenticates against a RADIUS server might work. If this doesn't work get me more specifics on what you are tring to do.
