Q:
Routers can they be selective?
Is there a router, or a way of making 1 station have priority over the other 3?
My program requires communication speed over the other workstations in this small company.
I wish to be able to continue without having others dragging me down.

Instead of using a router, you might want to check out smooth wall it allows you to use an extra PC (it can be an older model, I run it on a P3 with 256 Meg of Ram) as a VERY powerful router/firewall. The feature you looking for would be handled by the "Band width management" tool. The software is free (You would have to get the paid version to have access to the bandwidth management tool though), and has MANY other nice feature you might find useful.
Good Luck!
