my first question is where did you get the wireless access point at? was it used? does it have mac filtering, go through it and make sure there is no security settings that would cause the machines to not be able to see it, also i hope that you have the Wireless cards that are compatible with the access point, otherwise your not gonna get anywhere...if you can get the cards to see the access point (which shouldn't be an issue if the access point and cards are completely functional) then you should be able to access the internet, i have set up a wireless small office that had a direct wireless internet link that was on the roof and the linksys that i bought for the company worked fine, without any interference from the roof, so i would mess with some settings, maybe try resetting the router to remove all settings, and adding in only the mac address's on the wireless cards that go into the machines...i would also suggest to not use DHCP because then i can park outside your house and access your network and internet ;) and i would do mac filtering if possible
