 Routed Network can’t resolve Hostnames
i have 3 routed connected via MPLS and Cisco 878 Routers.

The three routed Network go online via headquarter Internet, any how.

my subnets is as follows

192.168.0.x (Clients and 3 servers in the same subnet)

192.168.1.x

192.168.2.x

the problem is:

if i am in subnet 192.168.0.x (same as servers) i can ping the servers by host name (srv4) it reply me and also if i ping with IP.

but if iam in subnet 192.168.1.x or 192.168.2.x i can not ping with the hostname but only with IP, which mean that the other subnets can't resolve names in other subnets.

please advise

Answer Wiki:
Your network clients must have a valid DNS server address that is configured either using static settings or through DHCP. You could likely use the same DNS server settings as the clients have on the 192.168.0.x subnet.
