 roaming profile quirk
I'm having a small problem with my roaming profiles. My profile will roam with regards to Outlook which is GREAT but some items don't; like my desktop (icons and background), ALL my start menu items, printers, etc. What am I doing wrong? I want to have a local system exactly like I need it then copy ALL it's settings to the server to roam with. Thanks,

Answer Wiki:
To be honest I usually try to steer away from too much dependancy on roaming profiles. They have a tendancy to cause all sorts of problems which can then be hard to pin down. Is there a particular reason you are using roaming profiles as opposed to group policy? You may find your network is more reliable using group policy.

No particular reason. If there’s a way I do this with a group policy I’d like to know it.

I know of a case where an account didn’t have proper rights to it’s own profile. Personally, I think roaming profiles are great and very productive.
