Dear All, I wonder if you can help me. I have WinXP and using my computer, I right click the C Drive and the following happens 1. Get microsoft error and sending report and then immediately 2. get Dr Watson doing the same. My computer crashes and using ctrl alt del to restore I get another message to microsoft with the details stating the prognosis is a problem with MSN Messenger - see below.
I also attach a copy of the event file and also an article from the Microsoft Tech Site.
No virus on computer btw.
Any ideas as to how I solve this problem please? or is it as stating in the article and any ideas how I progress with what has been advised e.g unistall miscrosot resources kit.
Many thanks Jessica

Hello,
Try uninstalling MSN Messenger and see if the problem goes away. If so, you have confirmed that application was the culprit. You may have a corrupt file or files associated with MSN Messenger that are causing your issues.
Good Luck!
Thank you for the reply:-
1. When I double click the c drive to view program files etc, no problem and also if I ingnore the microsoft warning box e.g box it out of the way and then proceed to right click the C drive no problem.
2. Re messenger possible connection this may have been linked to my use of Cntrl Alt del command to restore My Computer when it locks me out not before – Messenger program now uninstalled but C drive issue still remains.
3. Re Updates, they are current and up to date.
4. Is it therefore relating to the microsoft tech Item (90004) e.g Microsoft 2000 resources Kit as the event log seems to be similar?
Thank you Jessica
I would try to do a repair on the OS now that MSN is off of the PC.
Dear All,
Dreamscape kindly included a Microsoft article 883791 plus I included one 900004, both quoting a similar issue. Question please, in both cases the suggestings stated a Modname e.g kkadmin.dll or shlwapi.dll, but the error message I get unfortunately for me quotes:- modname unknown. Is it therefore wise to follow the suggested routes or is this not wise as the error although similar is not directly related to a dll?
I will run repair to see if this also helps.
Thank you
