Hi.

I am able to view certain Ports running in NETSTAT *CNN Screen and I would like to end some of them which are not required using a CL Program.

 Thanks,

Haaider Ali

...I would like to end some of them which are not required using a CL Program. How are you expecting to determine which connections are not required in a CL program (or any program)? Tom

We have MQ running on our iSeries Systems, which require some specific Ports to Active, before the corresponding MQ Jobs are Started in the System. The question is that we are able to view these Ports running in NETSTAT *CNN Screen, even after the System is IPLed and so there is a need to end and restart these Ports, before the corresponding MQ Jobs are started.

...there is a need to end and restart these Ports... "Ports" aren't ended nor started, so I assume that you mean that some jobs may begin using those ports before you can get MQ started. If that's the case, then perhaps what you need to do is look for the job user that is associated with your MQ jobs. You might have a good chance of setting up "port restrictions". Review the CFGTCP menu for option 4=Work with TCP/IP port restrictions. Set the ports to be restricted for the MQ user profile that needs them. Tom
