error message : The database was backed up on a server running version 10.50.1600. That version is incompatible with this server, which is running version 10.00.1600. Either restore the database on a server that supports the backup, or use a backup that is compatible with this server. (Microsoft.SqlServer.Smo)

SQL Server 2008 R2 RTM version (10.50.1600) is different from SQL Server 2008 RTM (10.00.1600) and the “restore” task will not run. Its incredible but is true.
I´ve solved this BUG using script backup and restoring after but … if you have all servers UP you can make it by DTS transfers (import / export).

You can read http://sqlserverbuilds.blogspot.com/ to be sure about the complete versions list.

To see your SQL Server version use “SELECT @@VERSION” command on T-SQL console.
