Answer Wiki:
There is no built-in way to dynamically block a file type from being written to a share. An alternative may be to create quotas on a per user basis and enable a nightly clean-up job. You can use the schedule tasks wizard to create one or just execute a batch file with "del *.wav *.mp3 ... /f /s /q" Make sure you start this in the file directory where you really know that you want all of those file types deleted."

You should not delete files without first informing the user community, as there may be a legitimate use for some of them. Prior to deleting anything, I would obtain management approval for doing so and send out notifications and reminders that files of the designated types will be purged from the system. Something else to consider is communicating to the users (awareness/education) that these files will not be backed up and will also be regularly purged from the system to preserve storage space.
