My question is: can you set a group policy to change the local admin password for all workstations throughout the domain to one password? If so, how would you go about doing so? Thanks -R

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

It cannot be done through GPOs unless you run a startup script that sets the computer’s password. Still this is not extremely secure because the startup scripts are stored in a publically readable location with the password in clear-text. There are some really cool scripts out there that can set the password to anything you want it, including completely random passwords for each computer (After all, why do you need the local admins password as long as the computer is functioning in the domain?). Still, I think they would be insecure unless it somehow generated a random password in the login script and changed the local machine password without saving it to a publically readable area.
