Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

using CHGUSRPRF  command we can reset the password.
To change your own password “CHGPWD” is the command.
If You have an Authority as QSECOFR, Then use the command ” WRKUSRPRF” and give the User profile name and then you’ will have password field on the screen. you can reset the password there or even you can give specified password there.

To change the password of another user, use the CHGUSRPRF PASSWORD() parameter. To change your own password, use CHGPWD. -- Tom

You also need the proper authority to change a password. If you don't have the authority yo need to talk to someone who does or has access to QSECOFR.

and I suggest you set it to something easy (e.g. same as the profile name) but use the "set password to expired" = *YES and warn the user that he/she must change the password (to what he/she really wants) at the next login. Much more professional than giving you the real password to enter.

    HI there,

I'am using SAP Portal in our office as a business portal. But when I entered the password it shows wrong input of password. Keep trying till I reached the limit (3 times attempt).

I cannot open the SAP PORTAL since then. Since it is for business matter I could say that this matter is too important that I have to reset or create new password instead.

I can understand manual settings process (step by step) if you can give something to solve the problem. Thank you very big. if you can teach me step by step.

    God bless!

There is only one "step". Run the CHGUSRPRF command for the profile and either supply a new password and set
STATUS(*ENABLED) or simply set STATUS(*ENABLED) if the password shouldn't be changed.

But because you're using SAP Portal, you're possibly restricted from direct access to the CHGUSRPRF command.

If so, you probably should create a new question. When you do that, describe your environment so we have an idea of what is available to you.

If you are not an IT administrator, you may need to reach out to your help desk to for asssitance with getting your password reset. If you are unable to sign on to the system because your password is disabled, not much you can do unless your company has an external application to reset your passwords.

As stated above, you need someone with the proper authority to change the password or enable the account.  some with the QSECOFR account.
