Error while attempting to replicate a Domino Directory

Attempting to replicate the Domino Directory, an error occurs "The database has local access protection (encrypted) and you are not authorized to access it. Failed with {server/name}" I can access both the sever and local copy. I have deleted the local and recreated the replication deselecting encryption type. Domino Server Name.nsf has no encryption. Changes made to users and groups are reflected in both databases. Doesn't seem to affect much but error sate something is amiss and I would like to identify the issue.

Software/Hardware used:
Lotus Notes 8.5.2 and Domino 8.5.2

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

Try out the following steps:

  1. Switch the Administrator to “Local server”.
  2. Files list and Right-click the database,
  3. Open Properties.
  4. Go to Properties > Encryption Settings > “Do not locally encrypt…”then click OK.
  5. Right-click the database and click Compact. Click OK.

If you don’t have the Domino Administrator rights then,

  1. First make a Copy of the database at location: Notes\Data directory.
  2. Login for that database and go to: File menu –> Open–> Application –> Browse
  3. Click File menu –> Application –> Properties to Open the Database Properties dialog box
  4. Select Encryption Settings –> “Do not locally encrypt…”. Click OK.
  5. Exit Notes.
  6. Run “c:\lotus\notes\ncompact -c c:\lotus\notes\data\xxxx.nsf”

hi thereHave you fully deleted the Replica and then recreate new or did you just create over the top? Have you tried a Compact -c -i against the DB to confirm the data is OK and the compact will ensure the data is not encrypted. http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21380084
