My knowledge of networking is rudimentary. I need assistance in replacing a ConnectGear switch in an existing network with a Cisco Catalyst 2950. The network consists of 9 clients PC's and one server running Windows Server 2003. The existing router is a Linksys BEFSR81 (8 ports) and internet access is thru an ASDL modem. AT&T is the ISP. I want to replace the ConnectGear and most of the ports off the router with the Cisco 2950. I would like to configure it as just a basic switch with nothing fancy if that is possible. Anyone who can help me? My email address is email@example.com. Thanks.
Software/Hardware used: Cisco Catalyst 2950, Windows Server 2003, Linksys BEFSR81, ConnectGear Switch
