Q:
Repeated problem: You are not authorized to the database for users local mail file
For the 3rd time in as many months one user has gotten the message "You are not authorized to that database" for his local mail file and is locked out.

The previous 2 time I deleted the local replica and recreated, but this is lengthy because working remotely. Also it continues to happen.

He is running 6.5.6 client and the template is StdR7Mail Ver 6.5.3.

6.5.6 client and StdR7Mail template don't belong together, you should not use an R7 design template in R6 client as this is just not supported, I suggest you delete the local replica then update the server mail file using R6 mail template from an r6 notes client install then replicate this back to the users machine. I have seen some really weird problems from this sort of version incompatibility, it might not be the cause but you need to eliminate this possibility before you try anything else.

Broxy,

Sorry for the type it was StdR6Mail. I have changed it to iNotes6 though because we do have web access for them.

But I also called IBM Support on this issue and got the following things to try.

1. Check for multiple ID’s for the same user Only 1 for this user - I even search hard drive
2. Try to open manually File, Database, Open No luck here either
3. Try to open with an admin ID Nada

So I deleted the local mail replica and recreated But this time I selected NO ENCRYPTION for the replica. They said I could change to Light from the default Medium, but I chose what I think will give me no future problem

Thank you for your input though.
