SAVF
I have a lib that I have backed up in a savf. I then ftp this savf over to another as400. I would like to edit this savf file because there are several savf's inside of this savf that I dont need on the other as400. I guess my qeustion is, Can I edit the savf? Can I delete some of the unneeded savf's from within the savf.

-The library that was saved was an old library and was used by many, thus there are a lot of savf's with in it. The quickest way that I knew how to get the library over to the new server was to save the lib in a savf and ftp it. Thus now I am left with trying to figure out how to remove some of the savf's from within this savf.

Thanks.

Unless you know how to rewrite the savefile, changing the content isn't reasonable. You have the main savefile on your system. Your best choice is to restore from it only the savefiles that you want to keep into a new library, then delete the savefile that you were restoring from. Save the new library into a new savefile. Finally, delete the new library. There are savefile manipulation techniques available on the internet, but simple partial restores of just the savefiles you want will be a lot easier and faster. Tom
