Remove old public folders from favorites
Hi all We recently migrated from exchange 5.5 to exchange 2003. A couple of users had some public folders from the old 5.5 server in there outlook public folders -> favorites. Now they can not remove those public folders because stupid outlook is trying to locate the orginal exchange server that they public folders used to be hosted on. My question is this, is there a way to remove these public folders from outlook public folders -> favorites without turning the old 5.5 server online. This setting seems to be bound to the mailbox and not outlook because a fresh install of outlook still shows the same favorites. Any help would be great, thanks

My first response is, sorry, but you have to turn on the old server. Bring the old server back on line, replicate the folders over to the new one, then you can turn the old one off and you will then be able to delete them. If anyone else knows a way to do this without turning the old server on, please let me know!

Keep in mind that the Replication is the only option so during the migration one must take care to replicate all the folders. Then only take off the old one.
