My company has introduced clientless F5 VPN and we are having issues with our remote users while changing their windows password. There is a delay in password replication/syncronization. It takes atleast 20 minutes for users to synchronize their passwords with the domain controler and we suggest the users to lock their p.c for 20 mins for password synch. Is there any workaround to resolve this so that the remote users are able to effectively sync passwords without a delay? Thanks

Hi.
This is unusual behavior and hard to tell exactly the issue without the FirePass version but might have found a few solutions. First, F5 does have some resources that might help:

AskF5 Knowledge Base: http://www.f5.com/solutions/resources/knowledge-base/

F5 Support: 1-888-882-7535 or (206) 272-6500

http://www.f5.com/training-support/customer-support/

and came across a few solutions from our AskF5 Knowledge Base (might require register/log-in):

SOL9431: Users cannot change their Windows domain passwords on the Tools: Account Details page: https://support.f5.com/kb/en-us/solutions/public/9000/400/sol9431.html

SOL11195: The Windows cached credentials are not updated when the Active Directory password is changed: https://support.f5.com/kb/en-us/solutions/public/11000/100/sol11195.html

SOL4114: FirePass may not allow Active Directory users to change their passwords: https://support.f5.com/kb/en-us/solutions/public/4000/100/sol4114.html

Hope that helps and if not, please contact support.

thanks

Usually, when a password is changed, in order to update the cached credentials on the workstation, the user should logoff (or lock) and then logon (or unlock) with the new credentials. If credentials were changed through the FirePass logon page and the Network Access "reconnect_to_domain" option under Launch Applications is enabled, FirePass will inform the user of the password change and then lock the workstation in order to update cached credentials. For additional information or support, suggest opening a support case with F5.
