There is a note specific to this model of printer :-
The HP LaserJet 1022, 1022n, and 1022nw printers can come with a wireless Ethernet 802.11b/WiFi and wired Ethernet 802.3 print server that does not support Line Printer Requester (LPR). However, the LPR column for this printer specifies N*, rather than just N, because this printer could be USB attached to a Microsoft Windows PC that is running a built-in or third party LPD program, or it could be attached to an external HP JetDirect or other print server that supports LPR, in which case you should be able to use LPR to print to this printer.
So it looks like you won’t be able to print directly to this printer through the network unless you go via a PC with specific drivers or via some other print server such as HP JetDirect.
