Check your firewall and security settings. See if you can roll back to a previous system restore point. This will really do a better job of cleaning out IE8 than an uninstall. ***************************************************** See if you can Ping the remote system. If it does not respond, as above, check your firewall settings. If it does respond make sure that the "<b> Allow users to connect remotely to this computer </b>" setting is checked in the <b><i>remote tab </i></b>of the My computer <b><i>properties</i></b>. Also check that you are listed in the "Select Remote Users" button.
