Remote Desktop Connection from other PC’s a strange error comes us as “RPC server not available”
I have a server with windows server 2003 on my office. It is also running symantec AV server and backup exec(media server). It has got a static ip. It is joined in a domain. When i am trying to RDC the server from other PC's a strange error comes us as "RPC server not available". I have checked that the RPC and all other dependency services are running fine. Basic things for RDP is been configured in the server with proper user selection for RDP, which is been configured in the domain level. Cannot troubleshoot this error please suggest.

Hi NAV blocks these calls and does cause problems that don't always crash the service. Are you getting any errors in the event logs? If so what are they?

Did you first try and check if the 389 port is open?
If yes did you check if the authentication level is the same?
Did you try connecting to the console by using MSTSC /CONSOLE /V:SERVERADDRESS ?

I just re-read the psot and figured out that there’s an AV server too, is probably this something like EndPoint Protection? You should check if the 389 port is open directly from the server, to do this perform the MSTSC /V:127.0.0.1 from the server itself and then MSTSC /V:SERVERADDRESS from another PC; if in case 1 it works and case 2 it doesn’t I’d say that is related to something firewalling your server.
