I’m having problems connecting to my database remotely in SQL Server 2008 R2. I get the following error.
A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections.
(provider: Named Pipes Provider, error: 40 - Could not open a connection to SQL Server)
The SQL Server properties are set to allow remote connections and I have verified that the Service Manager and SQL Server service are working correctly. But when I check the configuration manager, I see nothing under SQL Server Services and it shows that the Remote Procedure call failed.
