my pc's windows registry editor was disabled by administrator.i was supposed to be the administrator bcoz i own this pc.what can i do to enable my registry editor?i've tried opening my admin account but it doesn't say anything about changing settings with regards to registry.i hope u could help me. thanks much...........

Can you tell us what OS is on the PC? And what patch level? You say you “own” the pc, but then why do you have an administrator? Is this a company owned pc assigned to you? If you are on a network with a domain then there could be a group policy blocking your access to the registry. Your administrator would have to make this change, there is no “fix” for a group policy. Talk to your administrator.

    Hi Gelmo, I saw this recently on a PC where a "game" downloaded from torrents was installed: some strange warning windows appeared and regedit and msconfig were disabled... Virus check from within live-cd booted linux didn't recognize anything - the "culprit" was fresh and rare, quite frequent situation novadays. In that case I decided that a clean windows install will be less time-consuming than searching for nobody knows what. So, good luck Petko
