Regarding QoS

Networking, Routers, Router configuration, QoS

i've just bought edimax br-6204wg-wireless router
what i'm desperately trying to do is:
set a minimum bandwidth for 1 ip in lan and leave the rest to the others
i've set up a rule
a dowload rate of 512 kbs from any remote port and ip on tcp
i save the rule,eveything ok
when i enable QoS
eveything goes dead
can't ping router can't any remote ip,lan working fine
i remove wan cable,reset router,everything ok
what am i missing?
i could get a bit more into the problem is questions arouse.
thank ya ,good night
PS
i've bought the router just for the QoS feature, now it proves the damn thing aint working.

What is the OS that the single machine is running? Have you turned on the QOS service on that machine? Does that machine support QOS? Mis-configurations can cause the type of problems you are experiencing. Like if you have the wrong IP in there or that one machine is sucking up all your upstream bandwidth.

What is your switch as well? Does it support QOS? Is any of your equipment old?
