What is the problem you are trying to solve? If we knew that we would be better able to assist you. For example, you could have the same file journaled to multiple plave,. you could dump the journals to a DB file into a different library.

What is meant by "copy"? Since journals don't contain useful data, what exactly would be copied? . Journal receivers can contain data such as copies of database transactions, but journals contain lists of receivers and of objects that are associated with the journals. By 'copying' a journal, there would be two journals that both have the same receivers associated. The system will reject any requests to 'copy' a journal. . So, what is the need for making a 'copy' rather than simply creating a journal with the same name? . Tom

I tried to move the journal from a old library to the new library,I get the message CPF7014 in the log. This means that I cannot move the journal to the new library.I can only move the journal reciever. Can you please help me to understand what does this exactly mean : "Moving journals and journal receivers is limited to moving these object types back into the library in which they were originally created"

You can't move a journal to a new library.

Please describe the business problem you are trying to solve. You are asking about a technical problem that has no answer. If you tell us what the business problem is, we can create a technical procedure that should work. What is the purpose of moving (or copying) a journal?

There is one specific circumstance when you can move a journal from one library to another library. The library that you move the journal in to must be the library that the journal was created in. To understand why message ID CPF7014 exists, read Task 4: Recovering journals and journal receivers in the QRCL library, step 6.

Any attempt to move a journal other than that circumstance will give CPF7014.
