Regarding Domain controllers

Hello sirs, I have a little question regarding Domain controllers to be created in a windows server 2003 enterprise edition. How many Domain controllers can be created in a windows 2003 based domain??? Means if i have a domain as ABC.COM then how many domain controllers can be build including additional domain controllers and child domain. I am asking this question because this was asked to me in a recent interview, and i was not able to satisfy the interviewer with my response. So plz guide me right friends!!!!!!! Thanks mradul

i don’t think there is a limit. I think the question was for you explain a proper solution for creating the domain.

It is not recommemded to go like 3 child domains deep because of replication and I don’t think you need more than 2 additional domain controllers.

You don’t want your domain to be saturated with DC and child DC’s inside child DC’s.

From my knowledge I never read about a limit on DCs.
