My computer has been stolen and I never had any anti theft software on it. Its a Dell Inspirion 1525 and I have a great deal of important file I would love to retireve if possible. Now I do have the Mac Address of the actual Device, I want to know if thats useful enough to either trace down any IP addresses that it would b linked to or enough to remotely get to it to either use it as the webcam or get the files off it?? Am open to any other suggestions as well Thank You

Most likely, if police don't recover it quickly, you should simply forget it ever existed. The MAC address is a fair item of identification in case it's recovered, but it's extremely unlikely it can be used to locate it. -- Tom

chances are that when pc /  laptops are stolen it will never come back (based on stories from many people), but lets keep our fingers cross.
