Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

I would try windows system file checker (SFC). This command requires an XP Pro CD, takes quite some time, but will check and repair any system-level files.

<a href=”http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/system_file_checker.mspx?mfr=true”>SFC</a>

I would also start in safe mode with networking, bring up the msconfig utility, and begin checking around to see if anything is out of place, if there are additional services running, or problems with the boot.ini that could cause this.

Hope this helps!
