 record tv programs onto my computer
DVR imovie record program
Is there a program out there that would enable me to record a tv/cable program onto my computer where i would then be able to open it with imovie and manipulate/edit it as i like?

Try to get a tv tuner card and u can do the same what u want. Hope, u have a cable tv line, u can plug the coaxial cable into ur tv tuner & then stream the video into ur computer via S-Video / usb. Then you can use some recording software (or link here) to save the video to hdd. Today, most tv tuner cards will come with some recording software included.
